Bereavement and Loss Counselling is an important aspect of my work. I see first-hand the healing that results from engagement with it in a sensitive therapeutic relationship. I offer Bereavement and Loss Counselling in person in Tralee, Co. Kerry, or online via Zoom.

What is Bereavement and Loss?

Bereavement is the experience of losing someone or something that is important to us. They are physically lost to our lives. The experience goes with a grief process which is characterized by a range of emotions. For many, this process comes to a natural end and they adjust to the loss. For others, the process is overwhelming, They’re stuck in grief and they will benefit greatly from Therapeutic Support.

Common Causes of Bereavement, Loss and Grief.

Death through illness, accident or suicide. Alternatively, experiences that don’t involve death. Unemployment and loss of a relationship or loss of connection to a community are examples.

Why is Grief Necessary?

Grief is the healing process that follows a loss. In time, grieving allows you to adjust to life without the relationship(s) that made you feel secure.

What does Grief feel like?

Disorientation, feeling unsafe, confusion, physical and mental pain. It goes through stages that are individual to each bereaved person.

How Bereavement and Loss can affect daily life?

Feeling insecure or finding ordinary tasks hugely difficult. Relationships may suffer as you feel alone with your suffering and misunderstood.

Bereavement Therapy

The Therapy is caring and gently supportive. It will help you to meet, accept and process the feelings that go with bereavement, grief and loss. It will call on your active self-healing.
