Counselling Psychotherapy

Individual Therapy (sometimes called “psychotherapy” or “counselling”) is a process through which clients work with Audrey O’ Carroll in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. Audrey works with a wide age range of clients from 12 years to adult but most clients have one thing in common, some kind of relational trauma. Understanding the effects of Developmental Trauma and ways of working with non-verbal trauma in that context is a true specialty and one in which Audrey is extensively trained.

Individual Therapy is a place to explore your feelings, beliefs, or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of your life that you would like to change, better understand yourself and others, and work toward desired change.

Couples Therapy – If you’re a couple, you’ll be focused more on how each of you processes relationships differently based on your childhood learning. That difference is at the core of couples’ conflicts.

People seek therapy for a wide variety of reasons, from coping with major life challenges or childhood trauma to dealing with depression, anxiety or sexual issues, to simply desiring personal growth and greater self-knowledge. Sometimes they just give themselves permission to speak openly and to make themselves vulnerable in the presence of a safe, nurturing, other.

Audrey O’ Carroll believes that encouraging and honouring that risk, the vulnerability, is what creates therapeutic movement.
